1. Solang Valley
Solang Valley is located 14 km North-West of Manali, on the way to Rohtang Pass. It is popular for adventure sports like parachuting, paragliding, skating and zorbing. It’s a picturesque place and is popularly referred to as Snow Point.
2. Hadimba Temple
Hadimba Temple is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimba Devi, wife of Bhima and mother of Ghatotkacha. The temple is made of mudwashed stone and intricately carved wood with a four layered pyramidal top. It is surrounded by a lovely cedar forest (Dhungri Van Vihar).
3. Vashist Hot Water Springs
Vashist is a small village with natural sulphur springs. It is located around 3km from Manali, across the Beas River. One can enter the hot springs for a bath. The water is known to have medicinal properties.
4. Jogini Falls
After a 2km trek from Vashisht Temple, one can reach Jogini Falls. It is sacred to the village Goddess Jogini and is therefore a place of female power, known as a Shakti Peeth. One can enjoy a dip in these cascading falls while admiring the towering snow covered peaks all around.
5. Rohtang Pass
Rohtang Pass is a high mountain pass that connects Manali to the Lahaul and Spiti district and also to Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir. The name Rohtang means ‘ground of corpses’ due to the number of people who lost their lives trying to cross it. Culturally, it connects a predominant Hindu region to a Buddhist one. It is blessed with abundant beauty.
