Today marks the ascent into the spiritually charged inner Himalayas.
The drive from Dharchula to Nabi or Gunji Village follows the ancient Kailash Mansarovar trade route.
The road runs alongside the roaring Kali River, gradually gaining altitude and offering breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks and dramatic landscapes.
Enroute, pass through charming hamlets like Chalekh, Malpa, and Budhi, each carrying stories of pilgrims and traders from centuries past.
The environment becomes increasingly raw and pristine as the route enters the high Himalayan zone.
On arrival at Nabi or Gunji Village, one of the last inhabited settlements near the Indo-Tibetan border, experience the warmth of local Bhotiya culture.
Acclimatization is essential here to prepare for higher altitudes.
Dinner and overnight stay amidst the majestic mountains.
This is the most spiritually significant day of the journey.
After an early start, proceed towards Jyolingkong, the base point for Aadi Kailash.
The route offers awe-inspiring views of sacred peaks such as Brahma Parvat, Vishnu Parvat, and Pandava Parvat.
From Jyolingkong, begin a short but meaningful trek to Parvati Sarovar, a crystal-clear glacial lake believed to be the meditation site of Goddess Parvati.
The serene surroundings and absolute silence enhance the spiritual aura of the place.
From here, proceed for the divine Darshan of Aadi Kailash (Chhota Kailash), whose striking resemblance to Mount Kailash makes it one of the holiest Shaivite destinations.

Travel towards Nabidhang, the viewpoint for the legendary Om Parvat, where the natural formation of snow distinctly resembles the sacred “ॐ” symbol.
Witnessing Om Parvat is considered extremely auspicious, and pilgrims often spend time chanting and meditating at the viewpoint.
After darshan, begin the return journey towards Dharchula, retracing the scenic Himalayan route.
The descent allows a different perspective of the valleys and rivers encountered earlier.
Upon reaching Dharchula, relax after the fulfilling high-altitude experience.

Depart Dharchula and head towards Almora, passing through lush forests and rolling hills.
Enroute, visit the sacred Jageshwar Dham, a cluster of over 100 ancient stone temples dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, set amidst towering deodar trees.
This temple complex is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga-related sites in Uttarakhand and holds immense archaeological and spiritual significance.
Continue onwards to Chitai Golu Devta Temple, renowned as the “Temple of Justice,” where devotees submit written petitions seeking divine intervention.
On arrival in Almora, check in and enjoy the calm charm of this heritage hill town.

After breakfast, proceed towards Kainchi Dham Ashram, the sacred site established by Neem Karoli Baba, visited by spiritual seekers from across the world, including Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg.
Spend time in meditation and reflection in the peaceful ashram surroundings.
After the visit, continue the drive to Kathgodam Railway Station, marking the conclusion of the Aadi Kailash yatra.
